The audit of the Dana Air airline
has been concluded, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said in
a press statement on Sunday.
The statement was signed by Mr Fan Ndubuoke, the authority's spokesman.It said that Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, the director-general of the NCAA, adjudged the outcome of the audit concluded on 13 December as good and healthy.
"The director-general described the exercise as painstaking, professional and transparent, involving the NCAA Flight Standard Group in conjunction with their foreign partners."
The statement quoted the director-general as saying that the NCAA would meet with Dana Air officials during which their plan of action for closing "open items" would be reviewed and agreed upon.
It said that consultations would also be made to determine a possible date for the resumption of flight operations.
The statement also quoted Akinkuotu as saying that from now, the audit would be an annual exercise for all airlines, including Dana Air.
"The essence of this is to ensure safety in the sky and also to avoid hitches in flight operations."
