Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji will feature as a guest judge at the 2013 Miss Earth Nigeria.

Director of the Nigerian arm of Miss Earth International, Ibinabo Fiberesima had earlier told NET reporters that ''the year's edition would be different because we are currently in talks with top dignitaries who are passionate about the environment and the earth at large.''
Fiberesima, a former beauty queen and current President of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has been co-ordinating the pageant for about a decade now.
Nollywood actress, Ufuoma Ejenobor is a product of the pageant, as she had competed and won the crown in 2004 before delving into the movie industry.
The eventual winner will represent Nigeria at the World Miss Earth Pageant in the United States later in the year.

Ailing music producer OJB Jezreel a few days ago gave back to the society by donating N200, 000 to Hearts of Gold Children Hospice situated in Surulere, Lagos state.

The money was part of the amount he raised for his kidney transplant.

The popular Nigerian producer, who has recently been in the news soliciting the sum of $100,000 to undergo a kidney surgery in India, also received a financial lifeline from the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

Angelo Leaves Weeping Beverly Osu in BBA House

After making it to the top 7 in The Chase, South Africa’s Angelo has become the 22nd Housemate to be evicted from The Chase. What will happen to the couple tagged, Bengelo (Beverly and Angelo), they were torn apart last night, at the least for the time being. The dreadlocks dude left the house without even saying goodbye to his Chase Lover.

Angelo did not even get a chance to say goodbye to his lady love because the Eviction Nominees were called into the Rendezvous Room. Ini Edo Disgraced At Glo Slide Concert!

The last might not have been heard about Globacom's Slide and Bounce Concert held in Lagos last Sunday, August 11.

Expectedly, all glo ambassadors are invited to honour the show; first to arrive, according to a source is Ini Edo, arrived earlier than the scheduled time, 6pm.

Having found her way into the hall entrance of the Oriental hotel where the event was hosted, the bouncers, we gathered, refused to let her in with an excuse that they have not been instructed to allow guests in.

The actress was found at the car park roaming and making some calls but it was not until 9.pm that a visibly offended Ini Edo was spotted being led into the hall by the duo of Jumobi Mofe-Damijo and Desmond Elliot.

This untoward treatment continued when the compere, Okey Bakassi, acknowledged the presence of all the Glo ambassadors present, calling out their names one after the other, but leaving out Ini Edo’s name! This he did twice in a row and this must obviously have irked the actress.
I gathered that the highly embarrassed and frustrated actress, Ini Edo picked her bag and went for the exit sign. By the time okey Bakassi realized the error, Ini was said to have far gone.

The unresolved fight between victor osuagwu and Don Pedro

As we all know The actors guild of Nigeria Lagos chapter 2013 chairmanship election was held some months back having two contestants victor and Pedro, victor osuagwu was declared the winner and was sworn as the state chairman along with his executives, however at the guilds meeting held at the Haile Selassie hotel, surulere on June 27 don Pedro was also sworn in has chairman elect of the AGN by immediate past chairman of the state chapter, Emeka Rising.

On the 9th of august 2013 the AGN Lagos chapter held their actors night on the 1^st Friday of the month which has never happened before normally it’s supposed to be on the last Friday of the month, it has been like that for ages, to be sure I made some inquiries and I was told that the actors night still holds last Friday of the month and that this very one is just don Pedro and his loyalist. A source also confirmed that victor was announced chairman Lagos chapter and did not understand why Don Pedro will hold an actor’s night posing as the chairman…

In attendance of the actor’s night held by don Pedro was Emeka Ike who was address as the national president, and Emeka Rising who was the passing chairman AGN Lagos chapter.  A bird told me that Emeka Ike who was address as the national president actors guild of Nigeria gave a speech, he said as president he is going to make sure that his era brings blessing to the up comers, that he will make sure to build up the secretariat and that the only thing stopping the AGN from using the sect is the politics in AGN and not finance and that he will use his last strength to fight those stopping the growth of the industry.

Emeka Ike also said that President Goodluck Jonathan and governor Fashola gave AGN 5billon & 3 million naira respectively but that the AGN officials share the money amongst themselves instead of putting it to use for the good of the industry and the up comers. Lastly he said that the officials there at the actor night should build up themselves to fight those that don’t want the progress of the industry.

Finally his advice for the up comers is that when they become stars tomorrow they should not forget to show good examples and be themselves because nothing has changed, and that he is an example cause most of his colleagues say he is a street boy but he is not that he is just a Lagos boy who loves the street….

CHURCH ANGRY AT NGOZI NWOSU’S HASTY RETURN TO SET

There are indications that the pastor and members of Christ Tabernacle International Christian Center, Maryland, Ikeja, are not happy with their celebrity church member, NgoziNwosu. This is due to the fact that Ngozi`s brethren believe the ailing actress who had just undergone kidney operations in UK is not fit enough to start work this soon. It is widely reported that Ngozi, soon after her return from the UK hospital, had returned to the set of popular TV Series, Fuji House of Commotion. The church is led by Prophet David Emmanuel Bassey.

A reliable source who is a prominent member in the church revealed to NOLLYWOOD INSIDER last week that, “As I speak with you; its baffling to the church, the pastor and his wife that Ngozi had returned to work when she is not physically fit. This is a woman who can't even stand up on her feet for too long. When you see her stand or walk, she wobbles. What is she looking for or doing on a movie set so early? Or does she want to kill herself?”

Meanwhile, Ngozi is said to have donated the sum of N1m to the church on the day of her thanksgiving service. But what is not clear to NI as at the time of going to press is if the once robust and bubbly actress has paid the promised sum.

The unfolding event buttresses the earlier claim to NI in a previous report on the actress, by her one time councilor nurse at the Medical Center Yaba, that Ngozi has always been a stubborn person. If not, as the source puts it, why on earth would she take on such a suicidal mission that could easily terminate her life?

However, a source said when NI
 called Ngozi to felicitate with her on her birthday and to get her comment on her church worries over her health and immediate return to set, she replied from her U.K abode, “Thanks. I can't speak to you now. Call me next week when I come back to Nigeria”

Big Brother Africa: Day 73 Update

 

As Big Brother Africa Season 8 reaches its peak, there are quite a few new developments underway.

Many favourites have left, being voted out in pairs. The last eviction however, ended with only O'Neal walking away from "the chase".
He had been nominated before, but didn’t manage to escape the wrath of the public this time. His exit was swift, nonetheless, after his name was announced he kissed Feza, and left the house.
Another trend in the house that has had the audience buzzing is the Aids talks by the housemates. Today's discussion took an interesting turn when they each spoke about how the disease has affected them personally, in their respective countries and communities.
Beverly showed disdain at her country’s nonchalant attitude towards the illness, while Dillish spoke of her interactions with Aids orphans back home. The general consensus was that Aids education was lacking all over, a worthy cause to look into in future. The housemates were however impressively clued up.

Actress Mercy Jones, who has just had a baby girl, Purity, has been bombarded with scripts since she returned to work.

Sources have confirmed  that the actress who's finally back to work, after delivering her first child in the US, has gotten no less than 20 scripts in the last one month from movie marketers and producers in Nigeria and Ghana.
''MJ is fully back. In the last one month, she has been bombarded with several scripts from different marketers and producers who want to get her on their movies. She hasn't decided the ones she will do and the ones she won't do yet. It is as if they were all waiting for her return,'' a source said
MJ, as Mercy is fondly called, had taken a leave off movies to focus on her marriage and to deliver her baby daughter, Purity.

Beverly and her in-house boyfriend, South Africa's Angelo, had sex under the sheets in the reality TV show Big Brother, and this has prompted viewer outrage.

Beverly and her in-house boyfriend, South Africa's Angelo got down to some action on Friday, August 2, 2013 after fondling themselves and eventually having sexual intercourse under the sheets.
The pair later got into the bathtub completely naked where they kissed and fondled themselves some more.
Although, fans have continued to express their shock at the act, Beverly and Angelo's sexual escapade may not come as much of a surprise as both housemates have been all over each other in the past weeks, probably just waiting for the 'right' time.

On Sunday night, Big Brother delivered his judgment against Tanzanian Nando for getting into a fight with Ghana's Elikem and later threatening his life. Nando who already had two strikes for previous offences got a third one and was kicked out of the house by Big Brother.

The housemates got down to the task of the week, a seemingly continuation of the Film Festival task as the housemates had to prepare talk shows, create a comedy sketch, cast the news, do a weather report and create an advert campaign for their weekly presentation.
Later that night, what started off as an evening of cuddles and kisses in the Jacuzzi led to an intense discussion and plans of a relationship outside the house between Angelo and Beverly.
Later, the couple launched into a more serious conversation of pursuing their relationship in the outside world with Beverly saying that Angelo terrifies her because she's fallen in love with him so fast.
Then Beverly dropped the surprising question, ''Can you marry a person like me?''
Angelo didn't hesitate as he replied, ''Yes, but would you marry someone like me?''
To this Beverly answered in the affirmative saying she would have no choice because she loves him.
All the housemates later put up an entertaining sexy strip show for Africa when they decided to play the naked numbers game which saw Dillish, Beverly and Elikem taking off their clothes.

In the wee hours of Thursday morning, Melvin flirted a little with Dillish, planting kisses on the Namibian beauty who didn't seem to mind at all.
Dillish had earlier declared to the house that she enjoyed flirting.
Later Bimp revealed to Elikem that he was unhappy with him for the part he played in the fight he had with Nando and the Tanzanian's subsequent exit from the house.
